Welcome to Nevada County Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES)

Our purpose is to provide emergency communications for agencies within the county when normal communications fail or as a communications supplement when needed. We also provide communications to many special events within our county.

Join Nevada County ARES

ARES is a voluntary organization made up of Amateur Radio Operators who use their own equipment and volunteer their time to aid the community when normal means of communication are not available. We support many agencies when called upon such as the Nevada County Office of Emergency Services, Cal OES, Red Cross, Salvation Army, Small Animal Control and nearby counties when mutual aid is needed.
